"Failed to Launch Smart Shooter 4" LRC tethering

After successfully using Smart Shooter 4 trial, I decided to purchase the license. Much to my frustration, I now cannot get the LRC plugin to actually launch and allow tethering to Sony A7IV (which I’d done successfully with the trial of the software). I’m on OSX 12.2.1, LightRoom Classic 11.2 release. I’d LOVE help with this, as I have a shoot with a client tomorrow. Already tried pinging Tether Tools support a day ago and haven’t yet heard back.

Thanks for including the log, thats really useful.
To confirm, did you purchase Smart Shooter 4 from the Apple app store?

I think this is the reason why its not working, because installing from the app store means the app gets “containerized” for security reasons, and then the plugin will not be installed in the correct location for Lightroom to find it.

Can you try removing the app completely, and then downloading it again from our website.
The steps to do that are:

Use Finder and go to the “Applications” folder, and drag “Smart Shooter 4” to the trash bin.
Go to https://kuvacode.com/smartshooter4 and download the latest version
Install the app as normal (extract the download file, then drag “Smart Shooter 4” to the “Applications” folder
Start Smart Shooter 4, go to the “Lightroom” tab in the Preferences window, and click “Install plugin”.
Restart Lightroom if it was already running

Hopefully then it will work again.

Thanks Francis. I can see how the additional security might limit LR’s ability to call upon Smart Shooter 4 correctly. I also went into the Application (see contents), located the plugin file and copied it to the correct location in LightRoom’s package, but still no luck. Still probably a location issue.

I’ll try removing and going direct to your site. Thank you again for helping with this so quickly! I’ll email you shortly for activation code.
