Support for Canon R5 MK II

Hi there!
I am an avid user of Smartshooter 4 which I used with my Sony a7r IV. Now I haved switched systems and now own a Canon R5 MK II, which is naturally not supported by Smartshooter 4.

Looking at the supported Cam list, it is also not listed as supported for the current v5.8 - is there an ETA for adding the support?

Cheers, Kai

In the meantime I noticed that Canon themselves have not released API support for their camera yet. So I assume that has to come me first.

It seem that in the meantime Canon included the Mk 2 and since the last update also LR offers tethering with it. It still would be intersting to have it in SmartShooter due to the barcode functionality for high volume photography.

Thanks for getting in touch with us on this. We certainly appreciate your interest in compatibly with the R5 Mark II. The developer is looking at adding this camera in the future, though we don’t currently have an ETA for support.

Lightroom Classic has not yet added the Canon EOS R5 Mark II for tethering. Canon EOS Utility has added the camera for support with that software. In any case, we hope to have the R5 Mark II added for support in Smart Shooter in the future.

They might have forgotten to add it to the supported list, but since the last update I am using the R5 II in LR Classic via Tethering.

Thanks for the update. Perhaps they did forget to add the camera. We only refer to the official documented information. In any case, good to know the camera is working for tethering in Lightroom Classic.
