Sony A7r4 Tethering Issue

Hello,
I have been testing out Capture Grid with the Sony A7 range for a multi camera setup. The A7r4 model seems to be unable to connect properly with Capture Grid. If I set the camera to PCRemote Capture Grid fails to connect with it. If I turn PC Remote off and connect via the other usb options the camera shows up on the camera list but does not have any control options available to it.

Has anyone had this problem and been able to fix it? The older models of the camera Such as the A7r3 works perfectly and I find it odd there isn’t a workaround for this.

After talking with Capture Grid I have learned that the Sony Imagine Edge software creates problems with the A7r4 and Capture Grid. If anyone has a similar issue to me just uninstalle Imagine Edge and it will work perfectly.

Here are the instructions to switch back to the default windows MTP driver:

  1. Switch on the camera and plug it in
  2. Go to the Control Panel -> Device Manager
  3. Locate the camera in the device tree, right-click and select “Update driver”
  4. Click “Browse my computer for drivers”
  5. Click “Let me pick from a list of available drivers …”
  6. Select “MTP USB Device” and click “Next” button.
