We should be able to customize keyboard shortcuts or not need to exit the selection we are in. I typically keep the barcode selected because I scan roughly 300+ a day. In order to use ANY of the keyboard shortcuts I need to deselect the barcode. Either allow us to customize our own, or make it so we dont need to be clicked out of selections. As well as give more options, if I had a shortcut to highlight the barcode option then I can use all the other keyboard shortcuts.
Yeah this is tricky. If the keyboard shortcuts remain just single key presses (for example, the current ‘T’ key to take photo), then of course they won’t work when an actual text input field has focus in the UI. The text field will consume the input instead.
Existing customers already rely on the current shortcut behaviour in the app.
So I’ll plan to add a new feature in the future, the support option of customising the shortcuts or keeping the old behaviour.
Thank you!! I scan things into the barcode field about 400ish times a day, so keeping the barcode field as the focus is very important. I think even just having it as default old shortcuts and an option to do custom ones would work fine just like how adobe has it.
